HomeMy WebLinkAbout04064 ORD - 01/19/1955AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, AP- PEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565 ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED FROM TINE TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED.BY ORDINANCE NO. 2266 PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 4TH DAY OF MAY, 1948, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 16, PAGES 339 ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP ADOPTED ON THE 4TH DAY OF MAY, 1948, BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 11, 12, 13 AND 13(a). BLOCK 4. DEL MONTE ADDITION FROM "R -1" 014E FAMILY DWELLING TO "A -2" SECOND APART11ENT HOUSE DIS- TRICT; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL ORDI- NANCES IN CONFILICT HEREiJITH; AND DECLARING AN EMER- GENCY. 4HEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning certain applications for amendment to the Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and 4HEREAS, Public Hearings have been duly held, at which hearings all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the Public; and WHEREAS, By a motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided by the City Council at its meeting on September 30, 1953, that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendments would best serve public health, necessity and convenience, and the gen- eral welfare of the City and its citizens; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,'TEXAS% SECTION 1. SECTION 2. That the Zoning of that tract of land described as Lots 11, 12, 13, and 13(a), Block 4, Del Monte Addi- tion, being those lots at 301 Indiana, 305 Indiana, 2767 Sante Fe, and 2771 Santa Fe being those properties 100' in depth along the west side of Santa Fe between Indiana and Texas Streets, BE CHANGED FROM "R -1" ONE FAMILY DUELLING TO "A -Z" SECOND APARTMENT HOusE DISTRICT USE. SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi be, and the same is, hereby amended as herein ordained. - SECTION 4. That the zoning ordinance and map of the City Of Corpus Christi, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time to time and particularly as amended on the 4th day of May, 1948, except as herein changed shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 5. That all ordinances Or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making the aforesaid changes for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity re- quiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the _.L�_ day of January , 1955.
