That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the'City of Corpus Christi a contract with Heldenfels Brothers for the resurfacing of 11.4 miles of streets in various locations throughout Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, with hot�mix asphaltic concrete, which contract has been awarded in accordance with plans, specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference, and according to the bid of Heldenfels Brothers, opened on the 19th day of January, 1955, the said bid of Heldenfels Brothers being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. _ - - SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $84,807.34 out of No. 220 StreetBond Improvement Find to cover the cost of such re- surfacing, of which amount $79,807.34 is the contract price, $4,000.(X1 is the amount allowed the Street Division for repairing "Base Failures", and $1,000.00 is the amount allowed for contingencies. $1,000.00 SECTION 3. That the unexpended balance of aforesaid/appropriation for contingencies /on April 30, 1955 -hall revert to the fund for which it was appropriated, and further provided that no funds shall be paid out of the funds hereby appropriated, except with the approval of the City Council on motion passed by a majority of the Council. SECTION 4.
