AN ORDINANCE

APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $25,000.00 FROM NO. 202
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI WATERWORKS SYSTEM CONSTRUC-
TION FUND FOR GENERAL, SUPERVISION.OF TIE 0. N. STEVENS
WATER FILTRATION PLANT BY REAGAN AND MC CAUGHAN,
ENGINEERS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAIIM BY THE-,CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $25,000.00 from
No. 202 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks System Construction Fund for the general super-
vision of the 0. N. Stevens Water Filtration Plant by Reagan and McCaughan; such services
are to be provided for the balance of the project with a Pee to be paid on estimates ap-
proved by the City; and further provided, that a full -time resident be assigned to the
jab.
SECTION 2. That no funds shall be paid out of the funds hereby appropriated
except With the approval of the City Council on motion passed by a majority of the Council.
F SECTION 3. The fact that it is necessary to provide general supervision of
the 0. N. Stevens Water Filtration Plant creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the .suspension of the Charter rule that no. ordinance or reso-
lution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,
having declared that such public emergency and imperative public necessity exist, having
requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in Pull force and - effect from and after
its passage. IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the 0 day of February,
1955•

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING -
ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR ,
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID-CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS
THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
