HomeMy WebLinkAbout04149 ORD - 02/23/1955J AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO,. 3961 PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 26TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1954, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE, CORRECTING THE NAMES OF THE OWNERS AND CORRECTING AND ADJUSTING THE ASSESa4ENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ^* ON EIGHTEENTH STREET FROK THE SOUTH PROIE RTY LINE OF LOUISIANA STREET TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF NAPLES STREET, NAPLES STREET FRC14 THE NORTHEAST PROPERTY LINE OF BALDWIN BOULEVARD TO THE SOUTHWEST PROLE RTY LINE C' EIGHTEENTH STREET AND BALDWIN BOULEVARD FROM THE SOUTH- WEST PROPERTY LINE OF EIGHTEENTH STREET TO THE NORTH- EASTERLY EXTENSION OF THE SOUTHEAST PROPERTY LINE OF BALDWIN PARK, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 3961, passed and approved by the City Council on the 26th day of November, 1954, is hereby amended and said Section 3 of said ordinance shall - hereafter read as follows, to -wit: "SECTION 3. That in pursuance of said ordinance, duly enacted, by said City Council, authorizing and ordering the improvement of Eighteenth Street, Naples Street and Baldwin Boulevard, within the limits hereinabove named and defined, and in pursuance of said proceedings heretofore had and enacted by said City Council in reference to said improvements and by virtue of the powers vested in said City with respect to said street improvements by the Laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of said City, with particular reference to Chapter 106 of the Acts of the First Called Session of the 40th Legislature of the State of Texas, known and shown as Article 1105 -b of Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, there shall be, and is hereby levied, assessed and taxed against the respective parcels of property abutting upon said portion of said streets, and against the real and true owners thereof, whether such real and true owner or owners be named or correctly named herein or not, the several sums of money herein- below mentioned and itemized opposite the description of the respective parcels of said property, the number of front feet of each and the several amounts assessed against same and the real 4 r�i9 and true owner or owners thereof, and the names of the apparent owners thereof, all as corrected and adjusted by said City Council, being as follows, to —wit: .a � , Y 0 FINAL PAVING ASSESSMENT Eighteenth Street and Baldwin Blvd.- Type of Pavement 6" Hot -Mix Asphalt Base and Surface Contract Date July 12, 1954 CONSTRUCTION COST Cost of Curb and Gutter per linear foot $1.50 Cost of Sidewalk per square foot $0.34 Cost of Pavement per square yard $2.8286 from Louisiana Avenue to the extension of the S. The necessity for amending said Ordinance No, 3961 in order to show the real and true owners of property abutting upon Eighteenth Street, Naples Street and Baldwin Boulevard, within the limits above defined, and in order to correct and adjust assessments against same, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity, requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that said ordinance shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council„ and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and imperative public necessity exists, and having requested that the Charter Rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
