HomeMy WebLinkAbout04202 ORD - 05/04/1955js/4 -29 -55 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $99,424.34 FROM VARIOUS BOND FUNDS FOR CONTINGENT CHARGES IN CONNECTION WITH BOND FU1WC; PROVIDING THAT THE UNEXM0M BALANCE AT JULY 31, 1955, SHALL REVERT TO THE PARENT FUND, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 200 Gas System Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $35,974.34 for contingent charges to construction projects in connection with bond and construction funds, as follows: Rehabilitation of Gas Mains in Six Points Area in accordance with Ordinance No. 4072 ' $ 8,000.00 Rehabilitation of Gas Mains in North Beach Area, Leopard Hill Area and Six Points Area by City Forces in accordance with Ordinance No. 4088 27,874.34 Miscellaneous Charges not identifiable with spec- ific project in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109 100.00 Total $35,974.34 SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 201 Street Bond Right -of -Way Purchase Fund the sum of $100.00 for contingent miscellaneous charges not identifiable as to specific construction projects. SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 202 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks System Construction Fund the sum of $18,900.00 for contingent charges to construction projects in connection with bond and construction funds, as follows: 0. N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 $ 8,000.00 New Utility Building - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 100.00 Raw Water Lines - 0. N. Stevens Filtration Plant in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 2,500.00 Miscellaneous Charges - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109 300.00 48° Water Main from Clarkwood to Savage Lane in accordance with Ordinance No. 4051 5,000.00 Water Mains on Lexington Boulevard in connec- tion with Ordinance No. 4050 Amended by Ordinance No. 4148 2,000.00 Concrete Testing and other Laboratory Work for 0. N. Stevens Water Filtration Plant by Trinity Testing Laboratories in accordance with Ordinance No. 4049 1,000.00 Total $18,900.00 TZ-0 SECTION 4. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 209 Street Traffic Control System Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $100.00 for contingent miscellaneous' charges in connection with bond and construction funds not identifiable as to specific project in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109. SECTION 5. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 212 Fire Station Bond Construction Fund the a= of $2,100.00 for contingent charges to construction pro- jects in connection with bond and construction funds, as follows: Drill Tower on Site of Fire Station No. 7 in accordance with Ordinance No. 4054 $1,000.00 Fire Station - Kostoryz and Sunnybrook in accordance with Ordinance No. 4033 1,000.00 Miscellaneous Charges - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109 100.00 Total $2,100.00 SECTION 6. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 220 Street Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $2,700.00 for contingent charges to construction projects in connection with bond and construction funds, as follows; Alameda Street Improvement from Louisiana $1,000.00 to Doddridge in accordance with Ordinance No. 4118 Resurfacing 11.4 Miles of Streets with Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete in accordance with Ordinance 4074 1,000.00 Baldwin Boulevard Improvement in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 500.00 Miscellaneous Charges - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109 200.00 Total $2,700-00 SECTION 7. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 295 Storm Sewer Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $8,600.00 for contingent charges to construction projects in connection with bond and construction funds, as follows; Concrete Testing - Proctor- Brawner and Gollihar Storm Sewers by Shilstone Laboratory in accordance with Ordinance No. 4052 $ 500.00 Concrete Testing - Proctor- Brawner and Gollihar Storm Sewers by Trinity Testing Iaboratories in accordance with Ordinance No. 4052 3,500.00 Alameda Street Improvement - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4118 $ 500.00 Santa Fe, Ropes, Rossiter, Sinclair and Staples Streets Storm Sewer Improvement in accordance with Ordinance No. 4073 2,000.00 Proctor - Brawner Storm Sewer - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 2,000.00 Miscellaneous Charges - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109 100.00 Total $ 8,600.00 Section 8. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 297 Sanitary Sewer System Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $30,950.00 for contingent charges to construction projects in connection with bond and construction funds, as follows: Oso Trunk Sewer Main - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4131 $19,200.00 Modification of Broadway Sewage Treatment Plant in accordance with Ordinance No. 4094 5,000.00 Oso Sewage Treatment Plant - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 3,000.00 Sanitary Sewer Laterals - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 2,500.00 Sanitary Sewer Lift Station - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4029 1,000.00 Miscellaneous Charges - in accordance with Ordinance No. 4109 250.00 Total $30,950.00 SECTION 9. That the unexpended balance of aforesaid appropriation on July 31, 1955, will revert to the fund from which it was appropriated, and further pro- vided that no funds shall be paid out of the funds hereby appropriated, except with the approval of the City Council on motion passed by a majority of the Council. SECTION 10. That the necessity for a contingency appropriation for charges to bond funds creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity, requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and that said ordinance shall be read at three (3) several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and imperative public necessity exists, and having requested said Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally and on the date of its introduction, and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS SO ORDATM.
