HomeMy WebLinkAbout04207 ORD - 05/04/1955f t AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE ADDITIONAL SUM OF $20,000.00 OUT Or NO. 141 WATER MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION FUND FOR DRILL- ING AND MUIPPING TWO (2) WATER WELLS FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, it has become necessary to drill and equip two (2) additional water wells for the City of Corpus Christi, due to extreme drought in Reservoir Water Shed and heavy consumers demand; and WHEREAS, an additional sum of $20,000.00 is needed to drill and equip aforesaid water wells; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 141 Water Maintenance and Operation Fund the additional sum of $20,000.00 for drilling and equipping two (2) additional water wells for the City of Corpus Christi, o;_:ILLi:. The necessity for drilling and equipping these two addi- tional water wells creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or reso- lution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspen- sion of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and .effect ,,f o and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the day of May, 1955• MAYOR CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS ATTEST: �- City BeTcrestar APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM: r1 „ City Attorney I certify to the City Council that the money required for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose.
