WEIEREAS, By Ordinance No. 3996, passed and approved on the 22nd day of December, 1954, the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Lockwood and Andrews, Consulting Engineers, for the preparation of plans and specifications for the improvement of Staples Street in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, which improvement consists of street paving, curb and gutter and appurtenances, and appropriated the sum.of $11,310.00 to cover the cost of the. Preparation of said plans and specifications; and WHEREAS, it is now necessary to appropriate an additional $975.00 to cover preparation of plans and specifications for drainage tying into this project to drain storm.water from. Casa Linda Subdivision; and WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds 3.n No. 220 Street Bond Improvement Fund to cover this additional sum.; NOW, TARE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TBE'CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS (:BB=, . TEXAS: SECTIONa. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $975.00 from No. 220 Street Bond Improvement Fund to cover additional cost of preparation of plans and specifications for said drainage. SECTION 2. The necessity for preparing additional plans and specifications creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said 'Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED,.
