ATTACHED "HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, DATED APRIL
27, 1955, IN THE MOUNT OF $35,510.31, OUT OF FUNDS
REREMFORE.APPROPRIATED, -OR 1%-BALANCE OF A TOTAL

$164,506.93) OF $184,697.86; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the work of construction of Sanitary Bever Laterals
in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, performed by T. H. Lee,
Contractor, under his contract with the City, having been performed and completed
in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract and' the plans and speci-
fications therein contained, said contract having been entered into on the 17th day
of November, 1954, as authorized by Ordinance No. 3942, and the Director of Public
Works having inspected the same and certified to the completion of said work in
accordance with said plans and specifications, and said work aforesaid is hereby
found to have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and is
here now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That final payment of $35,510.31 out of funds heretofore
appropriated, due on the contract (in the original amount of $164,506.93), of
$184,697.83, as set out in the final estimate attached hereto and made a part hereof,
prepared by the Director of Public Works, dated April 27, 19551 to be paid from No.
297 Sanitary Sewer System Bond Improvement Fund in accordance with the appropriation
ordinances.
SECTION 3. That the necessity for completion of such project by said
acceptance and final payment creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule providing that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that Stich ordi-
nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that
such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS
THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING
