BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 3 H DAY OF MARCH, 1955,
BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE, CORRECTING
THE NAMES OF THE OWNERS AND VRRECTING AND ADJUST-
ING THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED ACjA.INST ABUTTING PROPERTY
OWNERS ON ALAMEDA STREET FROM THE NORTH PROPERTY
LINE OF LOUISIANA AVENUE TO THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE
OF DODDRIDGE STREET, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, IN ORDER TO FAIRLY ;AND JUSTLY APPORTION THE COST OF
THE IMPROVEMENTS OF ALAMEDA STREET, WI #lIN THE LIMITS SET OUT IN ORDINANCE
ND. 4172, PASSED AND APPROVED ON HARCH 30, 1955, AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
DESCRIBED PROPERTY AND AMONG THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS THEREOF, IT IS
DEEMED NECESSARY AND ADVISABLE TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CORRECTIONS AND AD-
JUSTMENTS: Y
(1) LOTS 62, 63 AND 64, IN BL CK 808, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS,
OWNED BY GEORGE A. STRAUSS, TO BE CREDITED WITH $6.72
FOR EXISTING SIDEWALKS; 4
(2) LOTS 33 THRU 45, IN BLOCK 810, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS,
OWNED BY OTHA BONHAM, TO BE CREDITED WITH $364,00
FOR EXISTING SIDEWALKS;
(3) 20 ACRES TRACT OUT OF PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS, KNOWN AS
THE CRIPPLED CHILDRENS HOSPITAL, OWNED BY THE DRISCOLL
FOUNDATION, TO BE CREDITED WITH $1,773.12 FOR EXISTING
CURBS, GUTTERS AND PAVEMENT;
(4) LOTS 35 AND 36, IN FLOCK 617, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS,
OWNED BY THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO SHOW AN
ASSESSMENT OF $282.37 AS INST THE SAID CITY OF CORPUS

REFERRING TO LOTS 62, 63 AND 64 IN BLOCK 808, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS; LINE
8 ON PAGE 3, REFERRING TO LOTS 33 THRU145, IN BLOCK 810, PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS;
LINE 6, ON PAGE 7, TO 20 ACRE TRACT OUY OF PORT ARANSAS CLIFFS, OWNED CV THE
DRISCOLL FOUNDATION; AND LINE 1, ON PAGE 12, REFERRING TO LOTS 35 AND 36

SECTION 2. The necessity for amending said Ordinance No. 4172
in order to snow the real and true owners of property abutting upon Alameda
Street, within the limits above defined, and in order to correct and adjust
assessments against same, creates a public emergency ana an imperative
public necessity, requiring the suspensicn of the Charter Rule that no
ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction, and that said ordinance shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and
imperative public necessity exists, and having requested that the Charter
Rule be suspended and that this ordinance be pissed finally on the date of
its introduction and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT I9 ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ardinawee, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass
this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting
of the City Council.
