AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI IS
HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY
DEED TO THE CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT UPON THE EXECUTION OF
A DEED TO THE CITY FROM THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR REGARDING A
TRACT OF LAND SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI., NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, AND
BEING A PORTION OF THE NORTHEAST ONE -HALF (NE 1 /2) OF LOT N0. TWO (2), SECTION B
OF THE PAISLEY'S SUBDIVISION OF THE HOFFMAN TRACT, COPIES OF WHICH DEEDS ARE
ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR EXCHANGE OF CONVEYANCES BETWEEN THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND THE CORPUS CHRISTI INDEPENDENT SCHOOL 'DISTRICT SO AS
TO PROMPTLY COMMENCE THE CONSTRUCTION OF STREETS, CURB, GUTTER AND SIDEWALK AT
THE CARROLL LANE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEAR BRAWNER PARKWAY, CREATES A PUBLIC EMER-
GENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE
THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO-
DUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS
OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND
IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE
SUSPENDED, AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRO-
DUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY 50 ORDAINED.
