AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO ACCEPT A DEDICATION DEED
FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ACTING BY AND HROUGH
THE ADMINISTRATOR OF GENERAL SERVICES, TO A TRACT OF LAND
10 FEET IN WIDTH AND 200.96 FEET IN LENGTH AND BEING THE
EAST 10 FEET OF LOTS 1, 2, 3 AND 4, BLOCK 5, OF THE BLUFF
PORTION OF THE C ECES ITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 0 �1EXXAS,
SAID LAND TO BE USED FOR STREET WIDENING PURPOSES, A COPY
OF WHICH DEED IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER BE, AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED
AND DIRECTED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO ACCEPT A DEDICATION
DEED FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH THE ADMINISTRATOR
OF GENERAL SERVICES, TO A TRACT OF LAND 10 FEET IN WIDTH AND 200.96 FEET IN
LENGTH AND BEING THE EAST 10 FEET OF.'ILOTS11 2, 3 AND 41 BLOCK 5, OF THE BLUFF
PORTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID LAND TO BE USED FOR
STREET WIDENING PURPOSES, A COPYOF WHICH DEED IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART
HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR ACQUIRING THE TRACT OF LAND DES-
CRIBED IN SECTION 1 HEREOF FOR STREET WIDENING PURPOSES CREATES A PUBLIC EMER-
GENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY,.ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL
MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED THAT SUCH EMERGENCY
AND NECESSITYEXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED °,
AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY,ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND
TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

DEDICATION UM
This Deed, ands by and between the United States of America, acting by
and through the Administrator of General Seraices, under and pursuant to the
authority contained in Public Lav 330, 74th Congress, approved Augu$t 26, 1935,
(49 Stat. 8W) as amended, Party of the First Fart, and the CITY OF COIN CHRISTI,
TEXAS, a body politic under the laws of the State of Texas, Party of the Second
Pert,
W I T N E S S E T H:
The said Party of the First Part, for and in consideration of the use
and maintenance by the Party of the Second Part of the property hereinafter
described as a public street, Apes by theme presents bargain, sell, grant and
convey, vithout warranty, express or implied, subject to the conditions, limita-
tions and covenants herein contained, to the Party of the Second Part, its successor$
and assigns, for use as a public street, a permanent easement upon, over and across
the folloving described property situated in the City of Corpus Christi, County of
nueces, Texaco:
A tract of land 10 feet in width end 200.96 :feet in length and being
the east 10 feet of lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 5 of the Bluff Forticu
of the City of Corpus Christi as shown by the plan of the City of
Corpus Christi recorded in Volume A, Page 3, of land gap Records of

aces County, Texas, said 10 foot strip of being more parti-
cularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said Lot I, Block 5, Bluff
Portion for the southeast corner of this tract;
Thence N to - 00' E along and with the east boundary line of said
Lot& 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 5, Bluff Portion, a distance of 20(1.96 feet
to the northeast corner of said Lot 4 for the northeast corner of this
tract;
Thence N 890 - 39` - 40" N along and with the north boundary line
of said Lot 4, a distance of 10 faint to a point for the northeast corner
of this tract;
Thence S 10 - 00' W parallel to and 10 feet west of the east boundary
line of said Lots 4, 3, 2 and 1 to a point in the south boundary line of
said Let 1 for the southwest corner of this tract;
Thence S 89° - 39' - 40" E along and with the south boundary line
of Bald Lot 1, a distance of 10 feet to the place of beginning.
TO SAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular the rights and privileges efores ld
unto the said City of Corpus Christi, Texas, its successors and assigns, subject to
the conditions, limitations and covenants set forth in this instrument.
The easement herein conveyed is to be oontiwously used only as and
for public street purposes and is csan+eyed upon the condition that in the event
the premises are no lcngsr used for such purposes, the title thereto shall revert
to the United States, and upon such reversion, the title of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, shall cease and determine, and the United States shall have
ismodiate right of possession.
By acceptance of this Heed, or any right hereunder, the Party of the
Second Part covenants and agrees that it will, at its ova expense and without
cost or obligation to the Party of the First- Part and in a manner satisfactory
to the Party of the First Part:
a. Construct a new sidewalk along the 'Broadway Street side of
the United States 'Post office site on the easement herein
conveyed.
b. Construct concrete gas meter box.
c. Relocate inlet box and collection pipe.

ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION
OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED
FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT
YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON
THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
