BE IT ORDAMM BY TIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That thework of construction of rest rooms at the
Evelyn Price and Ben Garza Parks in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas performed
by C. L. Castor Construction Company, Inc., under their contract with the
City dated October 17, 1956, as authorized by Ordinance No. 4652, having
been performed and completed in accordance with the terms and provisions of
the contract, plans and specifications, and the Director of Public Works
having inspected the same, certifying to the completion of said work in
accordance with said plans and specifications, the work aforesaid is hereby
found to have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications
and is here and now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That the final payment due under the contract described
in Section 1 hereof in the amount of *1,620.15, according to the final
estimate prepared by the Director of Public ItTorks dated January 23, 1957, a
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is hereby authorized
to be paid from funds previously appropriated for Park Development Account
within the general fund of the current budget.
SECTION 3. That the necessity for the completion of said project
by aforesaid acceptance and the authorization of payment immediately creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or res &tion shall be

read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the
Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist,
having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that
this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction and take effect and be in full. force and effect from
and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
PASSED AND APPROVED, Tht the -1.0 day of January, 1957.

SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLU-
TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT LS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH'
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE
OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 15 INTRO-
DUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
