That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, a contract with Brown and Root, Inc., for the construction of water lines on Poth Lane and ,Airline Road in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as set out in the plans, specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, 211 of which are made a part hereof by reference, and according to the bid of BrcHm and Root, Inc., opened on the 26th day of February, 19589 the said bid of Brown and Root, Inc., being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2. Tha t the sum of $80,325.00 is authorized to be paid from the Current Budget, Water Capital Improvement Fund, for said construction, of which amount $76,500.12 is for the construction contract and $3,824.88 is for contingencies. SECTION 3.
