BE IT ORDAIN :D BY THE CITY COUNCYL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CMMTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, a contract with
Brown and Root, Inc., for the construction of water lines on Poth Lane and
,Airline Road in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as set out
in the plans, specifications and contract documents on file in the office of
the City Secretary, 211 of which are made a part hereof by reference, and
according to the bid of BrcHm and Root, Inc., opened on the 26th day of February,
19589 the said bid of Brown and Root, Inc., being the lowest and most advantageous
to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. Tha t the sum of $80,325.00 is authorized to be paid from
the Current Budget, Water Capital Improvement Fund, for said construction, of
which amount $76,500.12 is for the construction contract and $3,824.88 is for
contingencies.
SECTION 3. The necessity for constructing water lines on Poth Lane
and Airline Road, as described in Section 1 hereof, creates a public emergency
end an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro -
diction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist, requesting that such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAUM-
PASSED AND APPROVED, This the —LA--day of March, 1958-

TION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE it IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE'READ AT THREE MEETINGS -OF THE CLTY
