WHEREAS, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, HAS CAUSED ITS ORDINANCES OF A GENERAL AND PERMANENT NATURE TO BE COMPILED AND REVISED AND THE SAME ARE EMBODIED IN A COMPILATION AND REVISION THEREOF KNOWN AS "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHaIST', TEXAS, 195d". NCNJ THEREFO:;E, SE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. ' HAT THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI , TEXAS, OF A GENERAL AND PERMANENT NATURE, AS CODIFIED IN THE FOLLOWING CHAPTERS, NAMELY CHAPTERS 1 TO 40, BOTH INCLUSIVE, ARE ORDAINED AS GENERAL ORDINANCES AND ARE ADOPTED AS "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI , TEXAS, 195,." SECTION 2. 1HAT ALL OF THE PROVISIONS OF "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI , TEXAS, 1955" SHALL BE IN FORCE AND EFFECT ON AND AFTER THE 1ST DAY OF OCTOBER, 1953, AND ALL ORDINANCES OF A REGULATORY OR PENAL NATURE ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON OR BEFORE THE THIRTY-FIRST DAY OF HIAY, 1D5C, AND NOT CONTAINED IN "THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI , TEXAS, 1958," ARE HEREBY REPEALED FROM AND AFTER THE 1ST DAY OF OCTOBER, 1958, EXCEPT AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED. SECTION 3. THAT THE REPEAL PROVIDED FOR IN THE PRECEDING SECTION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL NOT AFFECT ANY OFFENSE OR ACT COMMITTED OR DONE OR ANY PENALTY OR FORFEITURE INCURRED OR ANY PROSECUTION, SUIT OR OTHER PRO- CEEDING PENDING OR ANY CONTRACT OR RIGHT ESTABLISHED OR ACCRUING PRIOR TO THE 31ST DAY OF YAY, 1953; NOR SHALL SUCH REPEAL AFFECT ANY ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION PROMISING OR GUARANTEEING THE PAYMENT OF MONEY FOR THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OR AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OR ANY EVIDENCE OF THE CITY'S INDEBTEDNESS, OR ANY CONTRACT OR OBLIGATION ASSUMED BY THE CITY; NOR SHALL REPEAL AFFECT THE ADMINISTRATIVE ORDINANCES DR RESOLUTIONS OF THE CITY NOT IN CONFLICT OR INCONSISTENT WITH 51 '1 • PROVISIONS OF THE CODE; NOR SHALL SUCH REPEAL AFFECT ANY ASSESS- MENTS MADE UNDER ORDINANCES OF THE CITY; NOR SHALL SUCH REPEAL AFFECT ANY APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE. SECTION 4. THAT THE REPEAL PROVIDED FOR IN SECTION 2 HEREOF SHALL NOT BE EFFECTIVE TO IN ANY WAY REPEAL THE FOLLOWING: 1. ANY ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION OF THE CITY GRANTING OR CONFERRING ANY RIGHT OR FRANCHISE ON ANY PERSON OR CORPORATION IN EFFECT AT THE TIME OF THE ADOPTION OF THIS CODE. 2. ORDINANCES ADOPTING A PLUMBING CODE AND AMENDMENTS THERETO. 3. ORDINANCES ADOPTING AN ELECTRICAL CODE AND AMENDMENTS THERETO. 4. ZONING ORDINANCES. 5. ORDINANCES REGULATING AND RELATIVE TO THE LAYING OUT OF SUB- DIVISIONS, PLATTING OF PROPERTY, AND/Oit RECORDING OF PLATS. 6. THE MILK ORDINANCES. 7. ANNEXATION ORDINANCES. 3. ORDINANCES RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY. 9. ORDINANCES RELATING TO THE DEDICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS, EASEMENTS, PARKS AND OTHER PUBLIC PROPERTY. _ 10. THAT ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH BE AND THE SAME ARE HEREBY REPEALED. SECTION 7. THAT SAID CODE HAVING BEEN PRINTED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI , A COPY OF SUCH CODE DULY AUTHENTICATED AND APPROVED UNDER THE SIGNATURE OF THE MAYOR AND ATTESTED TO BY THE CITY SECRETARY SHALL BE ADMITTED IN EVIDENCE WITHOUT FURTHER PROOF AND SHALL BE PRIMA FACIE EVIDENCE IN ALL OF THE EXISTENCE AND REGULAR ENACTMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE. SECTION N. THAT PUBLICATION SHALL BE MADE OF THIS ORDINANCE IN THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE CITY. SECTION 9.
