AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER,
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TO ENTER INTO A CONSTRUCTION AGREEMENT WITH THE
STATE OF TEXAS TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS OF AGNES &
LAREDO STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
FROM PORT AVENUE TO SOUTH STAPLES STREET, THE ROUTE
OF STATE HIGHWAY N0. , A COPY OF WHICH AGREEMENT
IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:

SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY FOR EXECUTING' THE AGREEMENT SO THAT
WORK ON THE ABOVE- DESCRIBED PROJECT MAY BE COMMENCE9}IMh s 1EDIATELY CREATES
A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND °AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE
SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL

BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDI-
