AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI'TO EXECUTE
RELEASE SE_SEECTAL ASSESSMENT AS
FOLLOWS: IN THE AMOUNT OF $437.49
AGAINST THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY
FRONTING 60 FEET ON THE NORTHWEST
SIDE OF KOSTORYZ ROAD, DESCRIBED
AS BEING LOT 14. BLOCK 38, SOH-
SIDE_41 AN ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AND THE OWNER

WHICH RELEASE IS ATTACHED HERETO
AND MADE A PART HEREOF, AND DE_
CLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, - TEXAS:
SECTION I. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of the
City of Corpus Christi, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
execute Release of Special Assessment as follows:
Assessment evidenced by Certificate 111, in the amount of
$437.49 against that certain property fronting 60 feet on the Northwest
side of Kostoryz Road, described as being Lot 14, Block 38, Southside ##4,
an addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown
by map or plat thereof of record in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces
County, Texas, and the owner thereof, Carl E. Bolen, for and in consider-
ation of the payment of such assessment.
SECTION 2. That, said payments having been made, the
necessity of immediately releasing the same to clear the title to such
property creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no Ordinance or Resolution
shall be passed finally,on the date of its introduction and that such
Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor Having declared such emergency to exist, having
requested the suspension of said Charter Rule and that this Ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and that this Ordinance take

effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This / J day of April, 1959.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

WHEREAS, By virtue of an ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, duly enacted by its City Council on the 7th day of_ A98�► 19_59
as amended on the 25 day of_ iebrUBry__, 19 59 , there was levied an assess-
ment in the sum of Four hundred thirty seven and 49100($__ 437.49 __)Dollars
against property situated in said City, fronting 60 _feet on the NW '__side of
_ Kostory2 Road and described as follows:
Lot 148 Blbck 39e. Southside #48 a aubdiviaion of the City
of Corpus Christi' Texas.
And against the real and true owner or owners thereof, named as follows:
Carl E. Bolen
WHEREAS,Said Special Assessment was evidenced by such assessment
Certificate No. III issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on the_ 25th
day of— February _ 19 59 ; and
WHEREAS, The said Assessment Certificate has been fully paid off
and satisfied, and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was
the owner and holder of said Certificate and of all liens securing its pay -
menta
NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Texas a municipal
corporation, for and in consideration of the payment of said Special Assess-
ment does hereby Release said property from all liens securing the payment of
said assessment and the owner of said property from all personal liability
created by the issuance of said Certificate and the other proceedings above
referred to, and does declare said Special Assessment fully satisfied and dis-
charged.

Corpus Christi for the purposes and consideration therein expressed and in
the capacity therein stated.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE
FOREGOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST
FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; I, iHEREFORe, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER
RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS
INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
