AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH U. S* NAVAL AIR STATION OF CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS, WHEREBY EACH OF THE PARTIES AGREE TO FURN SH TO
THE OTHER ASSISTANCE-IN THE EVENT JOR FIRE OCCURS
ON THE PREMISES OF EITHER PARTY. A CO OF WHICH AGREEMENT
IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY,OF CORPUS CHRISTI4.

TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER] FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI$ BE AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH U. S. NAVAL AIR STATION OF CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS WHEREBY
EACH OF THE PARTIES AGREE TO FURNISH TO THE OTHER ASSISTANCE IN THE EVENT A
MAJOR FIRE OCCURS ON THE PREMISES OF EITHER PARTY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID AGREEMENTS A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO
AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THE FACT THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER INTO THE AGREEMENT
DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 HEREOF IN ORDER TO BETTER PROTECT THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI IN CASE OF A MAJOR FIRE CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE
PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDMNCE
OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE
CITY COUNCILS AND THE MAYOR, DECLARING SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST
HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND Be IN

GENTLEMEN:
FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE
FOREGOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST
FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; I, THEREFOR£, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER
RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS
INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL,
