PART HEREOF, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS%
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of
the City of Corpus Christi, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed
to execute Release of Special Assessment as follows%
Assessment evidenced by Certificate 139 in the amount of
$72.2u against that certain property fronting 5u feet on the West side of
Baldwin Blvd., described as being Lot 5, Block 5, Baldwin Park, an addition
to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by map or
plat thereof of record in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces County,
Texas, and the owner thereof, 0. H. Manning, for and in consideration of
the payment of such assessment.
SECTION 2. That, said payments having been made, the
necessity of immediately releasing the same to car the title to such prop-
erty creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity re-
quiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no Ordinance or Resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such
Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency to exist, having
requested the suspension of said Charter Rule and that this Ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and that this Ordinance

taxe effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This day of June, 1959.

WHEREAS, By virtue of an ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, duly enacted by its City Council on the19tJ'4ay of Jon__esv, , 195.5
as amended on the day of , lg_, there was levied an assess-
ment in the sum of Seventy two dollars and 20100 ($ 72.20 }Dollars
against property situated in said City, fronting SO feet on the E4sst side of

And against the real and true owner or owners thereof, named as follows&

WHEREAS,Said Special Assessment was evidenced by such assessment
Certificate No. 13 issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on the 29th
day of Jyna , 19j,; and
WHEREAS, The said Assessment Certificate has been fully paid off
and satisfied, and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was
the owner and holder of said Certificate and of all liens securing its pay-
ments
NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Texas a municipal
corporation, for and in consideration of the payment of said Special Assess-
ment does hereby Release said property from all liens securing the payment of
said assessment and 4he owner of said property from all personal liability
created by the issualce of said Certificate and the other proceedings above
referred to, and does declare said Special Assessment fully satisfied and dis-
charged.
IN WITH SS WHEREOF, This instrument is executed by the proper

Corpus Christi for the purposes and consideration therein expressed and in

FOREGOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST
FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 13 INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL; T, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER
RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS
INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
