HomeMy WebLinkAbout05390 ORD - 06/17/1959mm :6/1u/59 • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AS FOLLOWS: 'IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,3u8.29 AGAINST THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY FRONTING 146.8u FEET ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF UP RIVER ROAD, DESCRIBED AS BEING 3AACEPS OUT_OE_P ON ,T•RA91, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND IHE OWNER THIF,EEQF4_R,LMORGAN: A COPY OF WHICH RELEASE IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HHREOF, AND DECLARING_AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, be, and he is hereby, authorized and dir- ected to execute Release of- Special Assessment as follows: Assessment evidenced by Certificate 35, in the amount of $133u8.29 against that certain property fronting 146.8u feet on the South side of Up River Road, described as being 3g acres out of Peterson Tract, an addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof of record in the office of the County Cleric, Nueces County, Texas, and the owner thereof, R. Morgan, for and in consideration of the payment of such assessment. SECTION 2. That, said payments having been made, the necessity of immediately releasing Co,,the same to clear the title to such property-creates a public emergency and an imperative public nec- essity requiring the suspension of the Charter Rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such Ordinance or Resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor ha,nng declared such emergency to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter Rule and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that this Ordinance 5390 take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This _day of June, 1959.
