AN ORDINANCE
AIMMING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565 ET SEQ
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 2266 PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 4TH
DAY OF MAY, 1948, APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 16,
PAGES 339 ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION
RECORDS, AND AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 4846 ADOPTED
ON THE 21ST DAY OF AUGUST, 1957, APPEARING OF RECORD
IN VOLUME 26, PAGES 385 ET SEQ OF THE ORDINANCE AND
RESOLUTION RECORDS, BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY
AND
INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; IO:EPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PRO-
VISIONS OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE14ITH; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission has forwarded to the
City Council its reports and recommendations concerning certain applications
for amendments to the Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, Public Hearings were duly held at which hearings all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the City
Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on June 10, 1959, in accordance
with proper notice to the Public; and
WHEREAS, By motions duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendments would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience, and the general welfare
of the City and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record
in Volume 9, Pages 565 at seq of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as
amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No.
2266, passed and approved by the City Council on the 4th day of May, 1948,
appearing of record in Volume 16, Pages 339 et seq of said Ordinance and
Resolution Records, and as amended by Ordinance No. 4846, adopted on the
21st day of August, 1957, appearing of record in Volume 26, Pages 385 at
seq of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, be and the as= is hereby
amended by making the changes hereinafter set out.
SECTION 2. That the Zoning of that tract of land being
Lots B, 4, 5, 7, 8, Block 5, All of Block 4,
and Lots 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, Block 2,
Roosevelt Place, being generally that property
on the East side of South Port between Segrest
and a point 107 feet North of Baldwin,
be changed from "B -3" Secondary Business District to "L -I" Light Industrial
District, as approved by the City Council on the 10th day of June, 1959.
SECTION 3. That the Zoning of that tract of land being
that property located on the East side of Port
Avenue between Morgan Street and Segrest Street,
extending back 100 feet in depth from the East
side of the 1300 Block of Port Avenue,
be changed from "B -3" Secondary Business District to "L -I" Light Industrial
District, as approved by the City Council on the 10th day of June, 1959.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning of that tract of land being
Lot A, Block 5, Roosevelt Place,
be changed from "B -3" Secondary Business District to "L -P` Light Industrial
District, as approved by the City Council on the 10th day of June, 1959.
SECTION 5. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 6. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended from time
to time and particularly as amended on the 21st day of August, 1957, except
as herein changed shall remain in full force and effect.

SECTION 7. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 8. That the necessity of immediately making the afore-
said changes for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive
zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

SMALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, 1, THEREFOR£, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER
RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS
INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
