AN ORDINANCE
AUTHQRIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
FOR AND Ofd BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CIIRISTI TO EXECUTE RELEASE OF SPECIAL
ASSESSMENTS AS FOLLOUgit (1) IN THE AMOUNT
OF $1,4U5.63 AGAINST THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY
FRONTING 164.5 FEET ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF
UP RIVER ROAD, DESCRIBED AS BEING A PART
OF THE E. VILLAREAL GRANT AND__BEING ALSO
A PART OF THE OLD J. S. MCCAMPBELL HOME-
STEAD, ANjI THE OI7NER THEREOF. JOE W.
JOHNSON! (2) IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,126.27
AGAINST THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY FRONTING
104 FEET ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF UP RIVER
ROAD, DESCRIBED AS BEING LOT 2. WOODLAUN
ADDITION, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND THE OWNER

RELEASES ARE ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A
PART HEREOF, AND DECLARING-AN EhIERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXASm
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of the City
of Corpus Christi., be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute re-
lease of Special Assessments as follows!
(1) Assessment evidenced by Certificate 37, in the amount of
$1,405.63 against that certain property fronting 164.5 feet on the South side
of Up River Road, described as being a part of the E. Villareal Grant and being
also a part of the old J. S. McCampbell homestead, An addition to the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof of record
in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces County, Texas, and the owner thereof,
Joe W. Johnson, for and in consideration of the payment of such assessment.
(2) Assessment evidenced by Certificate 53, in the amount of
$1,126.27 against that certain property fronting 1U4 feet on the South side of
Up River Road, described as being Lot 2, Woodlawn, an addition to the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof of record
in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces County, Texas, and the owner thereof,
H. Thomas Cox, for and in consideration of the payment of such asse$ment.
SECTION 2. That, said payments having been made, the necessity
of immediately releasing the same to clear the title to such property creates
a public emergencyand an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter Rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and that such Ordinance or Resolutionshall be read

at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared
such emergency to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter Rule
and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
that this Ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from�n after

Certificate No. 37 issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on the__Mth

WHEREAS, The said Assessment Certificate has been fully paid off
and satisfied, and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was
the owner and holder of said Certificate and of all liens securing its pay-

NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Texas a municipal
corporation, for and in consideration of the payment of said Special Assess-
ment does hereby Release said property from all liens securing the payment of
said assessment and the owner of said property from all personal liability
created by the issuance of said Certificate and the other proceedings above
referred to, and does declare said Special Assessment fully satisfied and dis-
charged.
