BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXASa
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of
the City of Corpus Christi, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
execute Release of Special Assessments as followsa
(1) Assessment evidenced by Certificate 509 in the amount
of $250.34 against that certain property fronting 47 feet on the West side of
Thriteenth Street, described as being Lot 6, Block 7, Bay View #2, an addition
to the City of Corpus Christi, Nuecoa County, Texas, as shown by map or plat
thereof of record in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces County, Texas, and
the owner thereof, Lawrence R. Grinage 8 wife Mabel Grinage, for and in consider-
ation of the payment of such assessment.
(2) Assessment evidenced by Certificate 51, in the amount
Of $1583.11 against that certain property fronting 145.84 feet on the South side
Of Up River Road, described as being Frederic Tract, an addition to the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof of record
in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces County, Texas, and the owner there-
of, Wm. $ Helen Garnett Meyer, for and in consideration of the payment of such
assessment.
SECTION 2. That, said payments having boon made, the
necessity of immediately releasing the same to clear the title to such property
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter Rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed
finauy on the date of its introduction and that such Ordinance or Resolution

shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared such emergency to exist, having requested the suspension of
said Charter Rule and that this Ordinance be passed finaily on the date of its
introduction and that this Ordinance taxe effect and be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This
day of July, 1959,

WHEREAS, By virtue of an ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, duly enacted by its City Council on the 27thay of August , 19_ Be ,

WHERAAS,Said Special Assessment was evidenced by such assessment
Certificate No. 51 issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Taxes, on the 29th
day of_ A,pril , 19 59; and
WHEREAS, The said Assessment Certificate has been fully paid off
and satisfied, and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was
the owner and holder of said Certificate and of all liens securing its pay-
ments
NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Texas a municipal
corporation, for and in consideration of the payment of said Special Assess-
ment does hereby Release said property from all liens securing the payment of
said assessment and the owner of said property from all personal liability i
created by the issua ?ce of said Certificate and the other proceedings above
referred to, and does declare said Special Assessment fully satisfied and dis-
charged.
IN WITLESS WHEREOF, This instrument is executed by the proper
