AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE
RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AS
FOLLOWS: (1) IN TILE AMOUNT OF !
$77.68 AGAINST THAT CERTAIN PROP-
ERTY FRONTING 61.81 FEET ON THE
NORTHWEST SIDE OF KOSTORYZ ROAD, DE-
SCRIBED AS BEING LAWNDALE_12. LOT
1?. BLOCK 5.-MD-THE OWNER THEREOF,
MARVIN K. BLOCK, _ET UX: (2) IN THE
AMOUNT OF $64.09 AGAINST THAT CERT-
AIN PROPERTY FRONTING 51 FEET ON THE
NORTHWEST SIDE OF KOSTORYZ ROAD, DE-
SCRIBED AS BEING WYMOOD 41, LOT 24,
BLOCK 1, AIJ ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND THE O gR
THEREOF, ROBERT K. CARSON: A COPY OF
WHICH RELEASES ARE ATTACHED HERETO
AND MADE A PART HEREOF, AND DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of the
City of Corpus Christi, be,and he is hereby, authorized and directed to ex-
ecute Release of Special Assessments as follows:
(1) Assessment evidenced by Certificate 26, in the amount
of $77.68 against that certain property fronting 61.81 feet on the Northwest
side of Kostoryz Road, described as being Lawndale ##2, Lot 12, Block 5, an
addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by
map or plat thereof of record in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces
County, Texas, and the owner thereof, I.larvin Y. Block, et ux, for and in
consideration of the payment of such assessment.
(2) Assessment evidenced by Certificate 60, in the amount
of $64.09 against that certain property fronting 51 feet on the Northwest
side of Kostoryz Road, described as being I'dynwood 91, Lot 24, Block 1, an
addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, as shown by
map or plat thereof of record in the office of the County Clerk, Nueces
County, Texas, and the owner thereof, Robert K. Carson, for and in consider-
ation of the payment of such assessment.
SECTION 2. That, said payments having bean made, the nec-
essity of immediately releasing the same to clear the title to such property
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter Rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and that such Ordinance or Resolution

shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor
having declared such emergency to exist, having requested the suspension of
said Charter Rule and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and that this Ordinance take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED,

WHEREAS, By virtue of an ordinance of the City of Corpus Christi,
Texas, duly enacted by its City Council on the7&i+ day of 130Y , 19 58 ,
as amended on the ay of @ebrualty , 1959 , there was levied an assess-
ment in the sum of Seventy Seven and 68/100 ($ 77.0.0 )Dollars
against property situated in said City, fronting feet on the W side of

Rostorya Road and described as follows:

to the City of Corpoo Chrletl# Texaov
And against the real and true owner or owners thereof, named as follows:

WHEREAS,Said Special Assessment was evidenced by such assessment
Certificate No. 26 issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on the 28th
day of Pebruary , 1959 ; and
WHEREAS, The said Assessment Certificate has been fully paid off
and satisfied, and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was
the owner and holder of said Certificate and of all liens securing its pay-
ments
NOW, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Texas a municipal
corporation, for and in consideration of the payment of said Special Assess-
ment does hereby Release said property from all liens securing the payment of
said assessment and 4he owner of said property from ail personal liability
created by the issua ?ce of said Certificate and the other proceedings above
referred to, and does declare said Special Assessment fully satisfied and dis-
charged.

SMALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH
