WEEMS, Mr. Jack Ryan is the developer of South Shores Estates, a subdivision within the corporate limits of the City of Corpus s Christi, Texas, and desires that the said subdivision have Three 2500 lumen, on Twin Arm ornamental standards, elghteen single arm ornamental 2500 luminaries, and six 2500 lumen street lights, wood pole, bracket type street lights all to be installed, maintained and supplied with electricity by the Central Power and Light Conpany, for the benefit of the residents of the said subdivision; and WEEMS, The developer is willing and desirous to pay to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, the sum of five years normal charges for street lights of this type, amounting to Three Thousand Five Hundred Ninety - one and No /100 Dollars, if the City of Corpus Christi, Texas will request that said twenty -seven street lights be installed, and the said City oR Corpus Christi, Texas will make payment of street light billings on the said twenty -seven lights up to the said sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -one and No /100 Dollars; and TEAS, It is beneficial to the residents of the said subdivi- sion of South Shores Estates, and in the public interest to do so: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDILINED BY THE CM COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to execute with Mr. Jack Ryan a contract providing that the South Shores Estates will pay to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas the sum of 5447 Three Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -one and No /100 ($3,591.00) Dollars, upon receipt of which the City of Corpus Christi, Teams will assume responsi- bility for payment of street light billings to the Central Power and Light Company on said street lights, to be installed in the subdivision,of South Shores Estates, up to the aum of Three Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -one and No /100 {$3,591.00) Dollars. SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 5362, heretofore adopted, is hereby repealed, and in lieu of the contract executed under authority thereof, the contract authorized hereby shall be executed and substituted. SECTION 3. The necessity fore street lighting for the residents of the subdivision of South Shores Estates, and the citizens of Corpus Christi using the streets in that subdivision, to have adequate lighting creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity re- quiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed fishy on the date of its introduction and that such ordin- ance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDIUM1 PASSED AND APPROVED, This the _4-_ day of August, 1959• '1 Mfy V1co• THS CPPY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS Ci Secretary APPROVED AS TO GAL FORM THIS THE DAY OF AUGUST, 1959: ,-%- - 0 - - L.
