AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, FOR
AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO
EXECUTE A DEED CONVEYING TO THE STATE OF TEXAS A
PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING qb74.b SQUARE
FEET FOR THEsUW_0F_f3,5M-uu, IN PERFORMANCE OF
THE AGREEMENT OF THE -CITY UNDER ITS CONTRACT
AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE N0. 5550, COPY OF WHICH
DEED IS ATTACKLD HERETO AND MADL A PART HEREOF;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED 13Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED,
FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TO EXECUTE A DEED CONVEYING
TO THE STATE OF TEXAS A PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 9674.65 SQUARE
FEET FOR THE SUM OF $3,500.00, IN PERFORMANCE OF THE AGREEMENT OF THE
CITY UNDER ITS CONTRACT AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 5550, A COPY OF SUCH
DEED BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION 2. THE NECESSITY TO EXECUTE A DEED CONVEYING A PARCEL
OF LAND AS HEREINABOVE SET OUT SO THAT THE STATE OF TEXAS MAY TAKE POSSES-
SION WITHOUT DELAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC
NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE
OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION
AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL
MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH
EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF
SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE
OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL
FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS P,48SAdE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED

Acts of the 55th Legislature, Regular Session, 1457, to purchase land and such
other property rights deemed necessary for the purposes of facilitating the con -
struction, maintenance and operation of Controlled Acceas Highways; and,
