City Manager Townsend located the street on a map and Informed the Council that the only problem in closing this street is that the City has a number of utili- ties located in the area, including two storm sewers and an old sanitary sewer line., Ile Stated that the staff recommends that the street be closed but there is a question as to just hear it should be closed. Mr. Townsend further stated that the staff recommends that easements be retained to accommodate the existing utilities; the saner line mentioned serves only ane piece of property and since It is a private fixer line, there is really no need for it. He suggested that Item '!p",of the City Pianagee'9 Reports be considered at this time to accommodate Mayor Zambrani. — —. r: iT.liarsa ellTawssend presented the fol Fowing item and recommended thst: P- An agreement be approved with the City of Gregory under which Corpus Christi will cede to Gregory the 1/2 mile overlapping extraterritorial jurisdiction surrounding Gregory. according to the State Municipal Annexation Act, Gregory has adopted a platting ordinance and has established the present mayor and city council as the Planning board for Gregory. e9 Y• City Manager Townsend explained that the City of Corpus Christ; has a five - wile jurisdiction outside the City limits; the City of Gregory has a one-ha1f-n1Te jurisdictlun; and in this case, the two Cities have overlapping jurisdiction.. He stated that it has been the practice of the City of Corpus Christi that when the smaller City wishes to take the responsibility for the land involved, the City of Corpus Christi wolves their jursidiction, and it is reconeerded that this be done. at this time subject to an approved agreement between the two Cities. Speaking in regard to this matter was Mayor Zaabranc,who also introduced the City Admsinistrator for Gregory, Mr. Robert Mendes. The specifications have been revised to paint the interior of the tanks up to 20' free the top and spot paint the exterior of the roof. - e. Council Member Best emphasized that the Council desires that the commercial ramp be improved properly: City Wager Townsend assured the Council that the staff feels that the lel" overlay is the proper thickness - Mayor Jones pointed out that the plans have to be approved by FAA, and this will provide €e7surance that the plans are proper.
