AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING'THE ISSUANCE OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE
AMOUNT OF $18,657.30 TO REDUCE SIZES AND GAGES OF CAS-
INGS, ADDING ITEMS TO THE CONTRACT, REDUCING THE QUANTI-
TIES ON CERTAIN ITEMS OF THE CONTRACT, PROVIDING STEEL
WALL COLLARS ON STEEL PIPE, PROVIDING FLANGED ADAPTERS
AND THICKENING WALLS OF VALVE VAULTS AT COLLARS, IN
CONNECTION WITH THE LEOPARD STREET WATER TRANSMISSION
LINE, ALL AS MORE FULLY DESCRIBED IN CHANGE ORDER NO.1,
ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; APPROPRIATING
OUT OF NO. 202 WATER SYSTEM BOND FUND THE SUM OF
$18,657.30 FOR PAYMENT OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN CONNEC-
TION WITH PROJECT NO. 202 -68 -29.1, LEOPARD STREET WATER
TRANSMISSION LINE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. AUTHORIZATION IS HEREBY GIVEN FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
CHANGE ORDER N0. 1, IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,657.30 FOR THE REDUCTION OF SIZES
AND GAGES OF CASINGS, ADDING ITEMS TO THE CONTRACT, REDUCING THE QUANTITIES
ON CERTAIN ITEMS OF THE CONTRACT, PROVIDING STEEL WALL COLLARS ON STEEL
PIPE, PROVIDING FLANGED ADAPTERS AND THICKENING WALLS OF VALVE VAULTS AT
COLLARS, IN CONNECTION WITH THE LEOPARD STREET WATER TRANSMISSION LINE,
PROJECT N0. 202 -68 -29.1.
SECTION 2. THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED OUT OF N0. 202 WATER
SYSTEM BOND FUND THE SUM OF $18,657.30 FOR PAYMENT OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 1
OUTLINED ABOVE.
SECTION 3. THE NECESSITY TO MAKE THE HEREINABOVE DESCRIBED
APPROPRIATIONS AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CHANGE ORDER HEREIN SET FORTH SO THAT
THE PROJECT MAY CONTINUE WITHOUT DELAY CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IM-
PERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT
NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR HAVING DECLARED SUCH
EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, AND HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF
THE CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF
ITS INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT� FROM AND

Drive and the new sizes and
gages have been approved
by the State Highway Department provided the water lines are installed at the same flow line elevations as proposed,
except that the casing on Line C starting at Station 33 + 57 shall be laid level with the top of the casing at
Elevation
20. 5 or below.
Casing on Line B is at Missouri Pacific Railroad Crossing.

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordi-
nance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the
City Council.
