MINUTES
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MARCH 18, 1986
4:00 P.M.

Mayor Luther Jones called the meeting to order in the Council Chamber of
City Hall.
City Secretary Armando Chapa checked attendance and verified that a quorum
of the Council and the required Charter Officers were present to conduct the
meeting.
City Attorney Hal George stated that the Council would be going into closed
session under Article 6252-17 V.A.C.S., to consider the appointment or
evaluation of employees.
Mr. George explained that the Council will meet and discuss the progress of
the search for a City Manager by the firm Jensen-Oldani; Mr. Oldani has
developed a pool of prospective candidates; the list needs to be cut down to an
interview pool; and Mr. Oldani needs the Council's guidance in narrowing the
list of candidates.
Mr. George stated that a list of the candidates will not be made available;
individuals can be discussed by name; and the Council can give Mr. Oldani
guidance as to what they desire. Mr. George stressed that the names are
strictly confidential and should not be mentioned outside of the closed meeting.
Acting City Manager Briones stated that he would like to be excused from
the closed meeting.
A motion was made that the Council take a 10 minute recess before convening
in closed session, and it passed unanimously.

Mayor Jones reconvened the meeting in open session at 6:45 p.m.
There being no further business to come before the Council, on motion by
Council Member Mendez, seconded by Council Member Strong and passed unanimously,
the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
