AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT
FUND THE SUM OF $5,000.00 FOR INCIDENTAL EXPENSES IN
ACQUIRING PROPERTY FOR CROSSTOWN EXPRESSWAY (HIGHWAY
286 RELOCATED), PROJECT NO. 220 -56 -24.3, INCLUDING
UPDATING APPRAISALS, EXPERT WITNESS FEES, RECORDING
AND COURT COSTS AND TITLE EXPENSES, ALL EXPENSES TO
BE PAID ON RECOMMENDATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AND
THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY MANAGER; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 9157, passed and approved by the City
Council on December 4, 1968, there was appropriated out of No. 220 Street
Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $5,000.00 for incidental expenses in
connection with acquisition of property for the Crosstown Expressway
e Project, including updating appraisals, Court cost, title expenses, record-
ing fees and fees for appraisers services, said expenses to be paid on ,a
recommendation of the City Attorney and the approval of the City Manager;
and
WHEREAS, there exists at this time a necessity for appropriation
of an additional $5,000.00 to provide for incidental expenses in acquiring
property for the Crosstown Expressway Project:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of No. 220 Street
Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $5,000.00 for incidental expenses in
acquiring property for the Crosstown Expressway Project, No. 220 -56 -24.3,
Highway 286 Relocated, said expenses to include updating appraisals, expert
witness fees, Court costs, title expenses, recording fees and fees for
appraisers services, said expenses to be paid only on the recommendation of
the City Attorney and the approval of the City Manager.
SECTION 2. The necessity to provide sufficient funds to pay
incidental expenses incurred in acquiring property for the Crosstown
Expressway Project, Highway 286 Relocated, so as to close these cases with
reference to the aforesaid Crosstown Expressway creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date

of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having
declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the sus-
pension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after i s passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED, this the /4]t day of 1972

REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
