HomeMy WebLinkAbout11264 ORD - 01/17/1973TRR:ml:1- 1.6- 11 ;lst e AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH TRINITY ENGINEERING TESTING LABORATORY FOR LABORATORY TESTING REQUIRED IN CONNECTION WITH THE GREENWOOD DRIVE AND WEST POINT ROAD STREET IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO.`220- 70 -13; APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND THE SUM OF $7,350 FOR THE AFORESAID LABORATORY TESTING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Trinity Engineering Testing Laboratory for laboratory testing in connection with the Greenwood Drive and West Point.Road Street Improvements, Project No. 220- 70 -13. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $7,350 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund for the laboratory testing in connection with the hereinabove described project. SECTION 3. The necessity to enter into the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the necessary funds in order that the project may be commenced without delay creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Coundil, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and neces- sity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /%-tQday of January, 1973..
