HomeMy WebLinkAbout11511 ORD - 06/06/1973JRR :HF:vp:6 /5/.73:lst c+ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REVENUE SHARING BUDGET FOR THE FIRST ENTITLEMENT PERIOD, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11309, AND AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11414, BY APPROPRIATING FROM THE INTEREST EARNED ON THE FIRST ENTITLEMENT PERIOD CHECK $4,752 APPLICABLE TO ACTIVITY N0.121 -4132, CODE 332; $5,172 APPLICABLE TO ACTIVITY NO. 121 -3320; AND $6,649 APPLICABLE TO ACTIVITY NO. 121 -3349, CODE 503; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Revenue Sharing Budget for the first entitle- ment period, adopted by the City Council on February 14, 1973, by Ordinance No. 11309 and amended by Ordinance No. 11414, be, and the same is hereby, 1 amended by appropriating from the estimated interest earned on the first entitlement period check the following amounts, applicable to the following activities, and for the following purposes: a. $4,752 applicable to Activity No. 121 -4132, Code 332, for payment to the Corpus Christi Independent School District for use of the District's facilities for summer recreation programs; b. $5,172 applicable to Activity No. 121 -3320 for additional costs in the Police - Community Relations Program such as salary increases for which no Federal money is available; and c. $6,649 applicable to Activity No. 121 -3349, Code 503, $4,058 of which is for the purchase of a power rescue tool for the Fire Department to be used in coordination with emergency ambulance service and $2,591 of which is to be used in addition to a previous appropriation to purchase mobile radio units to equip six ambu- lances being purchased to establish a public ambulance service. SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the Revenue Sharing Budget for the purposes set forth herein creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS 9 -511 ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of June, 1973.
