JRR:jkh:1- 31 -74; 1st AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARR BOND FUND THE SUM OF $39,375 FOR SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS' AWARD AND FOR COURT COSTS IN CONNECTION WITH ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 20A AND 21, BAYFRONT OPEN SPACE PARR SITES, PROJECT NO. 291 -70-8, FROM THE OWNERS, GEORGE TAYLOR AND WIFE, FAYE TAYLOR, IN CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 291 Park Bond Fund the sum of $39,375 for Special Commissioners' Award of $21,775 for Parcel 20A, for Special Commissioners' Award of $17,500 for Parcel 21, and $100 for Court Costs in connection with acquisition of the aforesaid parcels, owned by George Taylor and wife, Faye Taylor, acquired by the City in condemnation proceedings, being Cause No. 691 styled City of Corpus Christi v. Faye Taylor, et vir, involving Parcel 20A, and Cause No. 692 styled City of Corpus Christi v. George Taylor, et ux, involving Parcel 21, the Bayfront Open Space Park Sites, Project No. 291 -70 -8. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately appropriate the necessary sums as outlined above in order that the City may take possession of the parcels and proceed with the Bayfront Open Space Park Site Program creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and necessity exist, having requested that such Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of February, 1974.
