AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 33A -8 OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CITY
CODE, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING PARAGRAPH (a) OF
SAID SECTION 33A -8 SO AS TO ALLOW CERTAIN ADDITIONAL
CHARG$S WHERE UNUSUAL LABOR IS INVOLVED, SUCH AS
DISENGAGING OF DRIVESHAFTS, REMOVAL OF TIRES, TOWING
OF MOTORCYCLES, OR PULLING A CAR FROM A DITCH; PROVID-
ING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Corpus Christi City Code, as amended, be ..'.
amended by amending Section 33A -8. FEES FOR IMPOUNDING, STORAGE, ETC., -
paragraph (a), said paragraph (a) to hereafter read as follows:
"(a) For the taking and impounding of any personal '
property,where a wrecker is necessary, Ten Dollars '
($10.00) An additional charge of not more than
Five Dollars ($5.00) may be made if one of the
following items of labor must be performed which
is not included in a normal tow, such as, but not
limited to, the use of •a dolly, the disengaging of
driveshaft, the removal and replacement of tires, the
towing of a motorcycle or the removal of a vehicle
from a ditch. If more than one of the above items
of labor must be performed, an additional charge
not to exceed Ten Dollars ($10.00) may be made.
Any charge in excess of Ten Dollars ($10.00) must
be itemized and in no event is the total fee charge
to exceed Twenty Dollars ($20.00)."
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction

it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent
of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its

purpose.

SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
