HomeMy WebLinkAbout12663 ORD - 06/25/1975jkh:6- 23 -75; 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN PARTS NECESSARY FOR REPAIRS TO PUMP STATIONS "A" AND "B ", INCLUDING TRASH RAKES AND 54" AND 36" DIAMETER PUMP PARTS FROM FAIRBANKS MORSE & COMPANY; APPROPRIATING $104,846.41 OUT OF THE NO. 295 STORM SEWER BOND FUND FOR SAID PURCHASE, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 295 -72 -1; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authority is hereby given for the purchase of certain parts necessary for repairs to Pump Stations "A" and "B ", including trash rakes and 54" and 36" diameter pump parts from Fairbanks Morse & Company, all as more particularly described in Bid Invitation #5264/75, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Secretary and made a part hereof by reference for all purposes as if copied verbatim herein. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $104,846.41 out of the No. 295 Storm Sewer Bond Fund for the purchases of the parts hereinabove referred to, applicable to Project No. 295 -72 -1. SECTION 3. Amendment of the City Budget to accomplish the pur- poses of this ordinance is necessitated for emergency expenditure in grave public necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions,which could not, by reasonable diligent thought and attention of the Government of the City of Corpus Christi, have been included in the current, original Budget of the City. SECTION 4. The necessity to authorize purchase of the parts hereinabove described and to appropriate the necessary sums for the pur- chase of the same creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and 12f 63 that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the�� day of June, 1975.
