AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 11727, AS AMENDED, SO AS TO
DESIGNATE THE SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
AS HAVING THE ADDITIONAL FUNCTION OF BEING ADVISORY TO THE
RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM BY ASSISTING IN THE
PLANNING AND FORMULATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS VOLUNTARY
PROGRAMS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 11727, passed and approved by the
City Council on the 3rd day of October, 1973, be and the same is hereby
amended by adding to the fourth introductory paragraph of said ordinance a
new item, to be numbered 6), reading as follows:
"61 To function as advisory committee for the Retired Senior
Volunteer Program by assisting in the planning and
formulation of senior citizens voluntary programs."
SECTION 2. Except as herein amended and provided, the terms, con-
ditions and provisions of Ordinance No. 11727 shall be and remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 3. The necessity to adopt the provisions hereinabove set
forth in order to comply with the Federal ACTION Agency guidelines in connec-
tion with senior citizens volunteer programs creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and

after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 1! _day of
July, 1975.

ORCINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT 15 INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
