AN ORDINANCE
APPROVING AND PROVIDING FOR EXECUTION OF PROPOSED
FOURTH AMENDATORY CONTRACT AMENDING GRANT CONTRACT
FOR CODE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM, NUMBERED CONTRACT
NO. E -21 (G), BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, A SUBSTANTIAL
COPY OF WHICH AMENDATORY CONTRACT IS ATTACHED HERE-
TO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A "; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended,
the United States of America (herein called the "Government ") has tendered
to the City of Corpus Christi (herein called the "Public Body ") a proposed
amendment to Grant Contract for Code Enforcement Program No. Tex. E -21,
dated September 5, 1972, as amended.
WHEREAS, this Public Body has given due consideration to said proposed
Amendatory Contract and has found it to be in the interest of this locality to
execute such Amendatory Contract, and
WHEREAS, this Public Body is duly authorized, under and pursuant to
the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, to undertake and carry out
the preparation of the Program, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The pending proposed Amendatory Contract, designated
"Fourth Amendatory Contract Amending Contract No. Tex. E -21 (G) for Project No.
Tex. E -21," is hereby approved in all respects, a substantial copy of said
Amendatory Contract being attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked
Exhibit "A ".
SECTION 2. The City Manager of this Public Body in its behalf is
hereby authorized and directed to execute said proposed Amendatory Contract in
two counterparts, and the City Secretary of this Public Body is hereby
authorized and directed to impress and attest the official seal of this Public
Body on each such counterpart and forward such counterparts to the Department
of Housing and Urban Development, together with two certified copies of the
proceedings in connection with the passage of this Ordinance, two certified
copies of this Ordinance, and such other and further documents relative to

the approval and execution of the Contract as may be required by the
Government.
SECTION 3. The City Manager of this Public Body is hereby
authorized to file requisitions, together with necessary supporting docu-
ments, with the Government, from time to time as Grant funds are required,
requesting payments to be made to it on account of the Grant provided for in
the Amendatory Contract, and to do and perform all other things and acts
required to be done or performed in order to obtain such payments.
SECTION 4. The necessity to approve and provide for execution of
the proposed Amendatory Contract and all other necessary documents for the
purposes aforesaid creates a public emergency and an imperative public nec-
cessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity
to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that
this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the L1 !�day of February,

FOR PROJECT NO. Tex. E -21
This Fourth Amendatory Contract, made and entered into on the date
herein below specified, by and between the City of Corpus Christi
(herein called the "Applicant ") and the United States of America (herein
called the "Government ") , WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Parties hereto entered into that certain Grant Agreement
No. Tex. 21(G) dated the 5th day of September , 1972 , as amended
(herein called the "Existing Contract "), and the Parties now desire to
further amend the Existing Contract:
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants, promises, and
representations contained herein and in the Existing Contract, the Parties
hereto agree as follows:
1. The Existing Contract is hereby amended as follows:
a. By exscinding from Section 5 of Part I thereof the amount
Five Hundred Fifty -Five Thousand Five Hundred Ninety -Six
Dollars ($555,596.00 ) and inserting in lieu thereof the
amount Five Hundred Seventy -Three Thousand Four Hundred
Fifty -Five Dollars ($573,455.00).
b. By exscinding from Section 7(a) of Part I thereof the amount
Four Hundred Ninety -Four Thousand Dollars ($494,000.00)
and inserting in lieu thereof the amount Four Hundred Seventy -
Six Thousand One Hundred Forty -One Dollars ($476,141.00).
2. Unless otherwise indicated, all provisions hereby authorized are
effective as of the date of the Existing Contract, i.e.,
September 5, 1972.•
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Public Body has caused this Amendatory Contract
to be duly executed in its behalf and its seal to be hereunto affixed and
attested; and thereafter, the Government has caused the same to be duly
executed in its behalf on the day of , 19

BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
