HomeMy WebLinkAbout13030 RES - 02/11/1976JRH:hb:2 /11/76 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the elected officials of this governmental body recognize the need for Crime Prevention services to be provided to the citizens of our community, and WHEREAS, funds are now available to Council of Governments to assist local communities in creating such programs: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City of Corpus Christi endorses and .agrees to participate in a Crime Prevention Program as is described in the 1976 Texas Criminal Justice Plan, and encourages the Coastal Bend Council of Governments to apply to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, for the funds to create such program. SECTION 2. The necessity to endorse and express willingness to participate in a Crime Prevention Program creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the ou suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED this the // of , 1976.
