HomeMy WebLinkAbout13112 ORD - 03/31/1976• e:3/31/76;lst ` TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACTS AND RELATED DOCUMENTS ACCEPTING A GRANT OF $240,989 FROM THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION FOR TRANSIT OPERATING EXPENSES INCURRED DURING THE 1974 -75 FISCAL YEAR; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he hereby is authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, contracts and related documents accepting a grant in the amount of $240,989 from the Urban Mass Transportation Administration for Transit operating expenses incurred during the 1974 -75 fiscal year. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize the execution of the above documents at the earliest possible date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED THIS THE 31st day of March, 1976.
