AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A TITLE
II COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT
CONTRACT MODIFICATION TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT DATE
FROM JUNE 30, 1976 TO JANUARY 31, 1977, THE TOTAL
CONTRACT AMOUNT TO BE INCREASED FROM $946,677 TO
$1,780,956, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE
CONTRACT MODIFICATION, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF
WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF,
MARKED EXHIBIT "A "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE ALL RELATED AND NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO
EFFECT THE CONTRACT MODIFICATION AND TO CONTINUE
THE PROGRAM TO JANUARY 31, 1977; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY, OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute a Title II Comprehensive Employment and Training Act Contract Modifi-
cation to extend the contract date from June 30, 1976 to January 31, 1977, the
total contract amount to be increased from $946,677 to $1,780,956, all as more
fully set forth in the contract modification, a substantial copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ".
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute all related and necessary documents to effect the contract modifica-
tion and to continue the program to January 31, 1977.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of contract modi-
fication and such other related and necessary documents to extend the contract
date and to increase the total contract amount, all as hereabove set forth, creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of
the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the
Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the _day
of June, 1976.

This contract is entered into by, the Prime Sponsor, hereinafter referred to
as Grantor and the City of Corpus Christi _ hereinafter
referred to as Contractor.
The Contractor agrees to operate a Comprehensive Employment and Training Program
in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. This contract consists of
this sheet and such general and special assurances as are included herein
(See-Page 2)
A. OBLIGATION '
(1) The total estimated Federal cost of the CETA FY(s) .
1976 program is $ 1,279,467 as
reflected in Section E, f, Line 7'of'the Budget Information
Summary. _This estimated cost will cover the period
July 1, 1975 through January 31, 1977
(2) Funds obligated by the Prime Sponsor are
$_.1,780,956 These funds cover the period
July 1, 1974 to January 31, 1977
B. MODIFICATION

GENERAL INTENT:
To modify the City of Corpus Christi's Title II contract to extend the contract
date from June 30, 1976 to January 31, 1977. The number of positions are increased
from 118 to 193. The contract funds for FY 1976 are increased from $445,071 to
$1,279,467. Total contract funds are increased from $946,677 to $1,780.956. .
