HomeMy WebLinkAbout13215 ORD - 06/09/1976TKH:vmr:6- 9- 76;lst TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A TITLE II COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT CONTRACT MODIFICATION TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT DATE FROM JUNE 30, 1976 TO JANUARY 31, 1977, THE TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT TO BE INCREASED FROM $946,677 TO $1,780,956, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE CONTRACT MODIFICATION, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL RELATED AND NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO EFFECT THE CONTRACT MODIFICATION AND TO CONTINUE THE PROGRAM TO JANUARY 31, 1977; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY, OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a Title II Comprehensive Employment and Training Act Contract Modifi- cation to extend the contract date from June 30, 1976 to January 31, 1977, the total contract amount to be increased from $946,677 to $1,780,956, all as more fully set forth in the contract modification, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute all related and necessary documents to effect the contract modifica- tion and to continue the program to January 31, 1977. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of contract modi- fication and such other related and necessary documents to extend the contract date and to increase the total contract amount, all as hereabove set forth, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the _day of June, 1976.
