AN ORDINANCE
APPOINTING JOE ALSUP JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT "A"
IN CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE
CORPUS CHRISTI MUNICIPAL COURTS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,

TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The appointment of Joe Alsup as Judge of the Municipal
Court "A" in Corpus Christi, Texas, by nomination of the Mayor and confirmation
by the City Council is hereby declared and affirmed, and said Judge shall be
designated as Presiding Judge of the Municipal Courts in the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas. Said appointment shall be subject to the provisions of City
ordinance, the City Charter and State law concerning Municipal Courts.
SECTION 2. The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect
and be in effect from and after July 1, 1976, for a term of two years.
SECTION 3. The necessity for immediate provisions of the appoint-
ment of the Judge of the Municipal Court "A" in Corpus Christi, Texas, and
the fixing of salary creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter
rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of June, 1976.

ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NEFESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN-
SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL
BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR
RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; 1, THEREFORE,
REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDI-
NANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL.
