HomeMy WebLinkAbout14120 ORD - 01/11/1978• JKH:hb:1/9/78 AN ORDINANCE .. • APPROPRIATING OUT OF NO. 162 FEDERAL /STATE GRANT FUND, COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT ACTIVITY'4736, CODE 502, THE SUM OF $42,762,76, TO REIMBURSE THE NO. 141 WATER REVENUE FUND, ACTIVITY 5171, CODE 602, FOR CITY FORCE ACCOUNT WORK PERFORMED DURING NOVEMBER, 1977, APPLICABLE TO HIGH TERRACE, LA ARBOLEDA, AND CASA BLANCA SUBDIVISIONS AND LOZANO SCHOOL AREA AS ALLOCATED IN THE THIRD YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CONTRACT FOR UTILITIES SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS AND RELOCATIONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $42,762.76 out of the No. 162 Federal /State Grant Fund, Community Block Grant Activity 4736, Code 502, to reimburse the No. 141 Water Revenue Fund, Activity 5111, Code 602, for City force account work performed during November, 1977, applicable to High Terrace, LaArboleda, and Casa Blanca Subdivisions and the Lozano School area as allocated in the third year community development block grant contract for utilities system improvements and relocations. SECTION 2. The necessity to provide the sums hereinabove appropriated to reimburse the Water Revenue Fund as more fully set out herein creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the _day of January, 1978. TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
