HomeMy WebLinkAbout14241 ORD - 03/29/1978JKH:hb:3 /28/78, t TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING CHAPTER 353 ARTICLE II, LAND DRILLING, EXHIBIT "A" OF SECTION 35 -65 SO AS TO CHANGE THE BOUNDARIES OF DRILLING BLOCKS 1067, 1070, 1071, 1072, 1073, 1079, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1102, 11035 1106, 1107, 1108, 1109, 1112, 1113, 1123, 1148, 1149, 1152, 1153, 1548, 1549, 1550, 1551, 1552, 1553, 1554, 1555, 1556, 1557, 1558, 1559, 1560, 1561, 1562, 1563, 1564, 1565, 1566, 1567, 1568, 1569, 1570, 1571, 1572, 1573, 1574, 1575, 1575, 1577, 1578, 1579, 1580, 1581,1582, 1583, 1584, 1585, 1586, AND 1590, TO MORE PROPERLY REFLECT SUBSURFACE MINERAL OWNERSHIP, MAPS OF WHICH ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE PETROLEUM SUPERINTENDENT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Chapter 35, Article II, Land Drilling, Exhibit "A ", of Section 35 -65 so as to change the boundaries of Drilling Blocks 1067, 1070, 1071, 1072, 1073, 1079, 1080, 1081, 1082, 1102, 1103, 1106, 1107, 1108, 1109, 1112, 1113, 1123, 1148, 1149, 1152, 1153, 1548, 1549, 1550, 1551, 1552, 1553, 1554, 1555, 1556, 1557, 1558, 1559, 1560, 1561, 1562, 1563, 1564, 1565, 1566, 1567, 1568, 1569, 1570, 1571, 1572, 1573, 1574, 1575, 1576, 1577, 1578, 1579, 1580, 1581, 1582, 1583, 1584, 1585, 1586, and 1590, to more properly reflect subsurface mineral ownership, maps of which are on file in the office of the Petroleum Superintendent. SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision thereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi, by publishing the caption of this MICROFILMED JUL 0 71980 14241 ordinance, stating i'n substance the purpose of the ordinance. SECTION 4. The necessity to redefine the boundaries of the aforesaid drilling blocks in the Airport Area to complete the drilling block reconfiguration recently commenced creates a public emergency and an im- perative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of'the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the =day of March, 1978.
