HomeMy WebLinkAbout14619 ORD - 11/15/1978-- jkh:1O- 10- 78;lst I AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A LEASE AGREE- MENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND HEADQUARTERS, THIRD GROUP, TEXAS WING, CIVIL AIR PATROL, FOR THE USE OF 120 SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL BUILDING AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE LEASE AGREEMENT, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A ". BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a lease agreement between the City of Corpus Christi and Headquarters, Third Group, Texas Wing, Civil Air Patrol, for the use of 120 square feet of office space in the International Arrival Building at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as more fully set forth in the lease agreement, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". M-10R--OFILMED JUL 0'8 1980, 1461,3 LEASE AGREEMENT STATE OF TEXAS g COUNTY OF NUECES H This agreement of lease by and between the City of Corpus Christi, a municipal corporation,'herein designated as "Lessor" and the 3rd Group, Texas Wing, Civil Air Patrol, designated herein as "Lessee ", WITNESSETH: That in consideration of the exchange of mutual covenants herein contained to be kept and performed on the part of Lessor and Lessee, the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. Lessor hereby leases and demises to Lessee the following described premises on the terms and conditions herein set forth, to -wit: One room designated as room 111, International Arrival Building, Corpus Christi International Airport, consisting of 120 sq. feet of floor space, as shown by floor plan thereof, marked as Exhibit "A ", attached hereto and made a part hereof. 2. Lessee shall occupy the leased premises for the sole purpose of conducting its headquarters and administrative activities, including business meetings, in connection with the operation of the local Civil Air Patrol unit. 3. The term of said lease shall be five (5) years, subject however, to the right of Lessor to cancel said lease at any time upon Lessor giving Lessee thirty (30) days notice of such intention to terminate said lease. Lessee shall have the right to terminate said lease and vacate the premises at any time on written notice to Lessor. 4. By acceptance of this lease Lessee expressly agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Lessor from any and all claims of damage or personal injury whatever that may arise as a result of Lessee's occupancy and use of the premises in any manner. 5. Lessee shall use and operate the premises substantially consistent with the use and operation of other similarly situated offices I It B in the International Arrival Building and in keeping with reasonable stan- dards of good housekeeping, and shall maintain the premises in good condition and in an attractive appearance. Lessee shall make no structural changes or alteration in the premises without prior written consent of Lessor. 6.
