AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, BUILDINGS, CONSTRUCTION
AND RELATED OPERATIONS; HOUSING AND HOUSING PREMISES
STANDARDS, BY AMENDING SECTION 13-82, EXCEPTIONS FROM
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS, SUBPARAGRAPH (4), THE FIRST
SENTENCE THEREOF, SO AS TO ALLOW AN EXEMPTION FOR
FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT FACILITIES TO INCLUDE
SUCH FACILITIES LOCATED ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROPERTY:
AMENDING SECTION 13-82 BY ADDING A NEW SUBPARAGRAPH,
TO BE NUMBERED (6), TO RECOGNIZE THE PRACTICE OF FAC-
TORY REPRESENTATIVES OR SPECIALISTS INSTALLING HIGHLY
COMPLEX OR SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT; REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That Chapter 13 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, BUILDINGS, CONSTRUCTION AND RELATED OPERATIONS;
HOUSING AND HOUSING PREMISES STANDARDS, be amended by amending Section 13-82,
Exceptions from License Requirements, subparagraph (4), by deleting the
following words in the first sentence, "property owned by said state or
federal government," substituting therefor the words "government-owned property",
said first sentence to hereafter read as follows: "The installation, altera-
tion or repair of electric wiring, devices, appliances and equipment installed
by or for the state or federal government in connection with construction
or repair of buildings used and located on government-owned property."
SECTION 2. That Section 13-82 be further amended by adding a new
subparagraph, (6), to hereafter read as follows:
"(6) The installation, alteration or repair of specialized and
complex electrical equipment may be done by technicians designated by the
manufacturer or user of such equipment, if, in the opinion of the Chief Electrical
Inspector, the work is sufficiently specialized or complex so that it should
be performed by such technicians."
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi, which publication shall contain the
caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
