CASTILLO ROOFING & CONTRACTING COMPANY FOR REPAIRS TO THE BOYS' CLUB ROOF; APPROPRIATING $24,000 OUT OF THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATES GRANT FUND,c,ACTIVITY)4744, CODE 502, 5TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT -BLOCK GRANT, OF WHICH $22,000 IS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT AND $2,000 IS ' FOR CONTINGENCIES, INCIDENTAL AND RELATED EXPENSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; • TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the,City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with E. M. Castillo Roofing & Contracting Company for repairs to the Boys' Club Roof, all as more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of E. M. Castillo Roofing & Contracting Company, opened on January 2, 1980, said bid being the lowest and most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated $24,000 out of the No. 162 Federal/States Grant Fund, Activity 4744, Code 502, 5th Year Community Development Block Grant, of which $22,000 is for the construc- tion contract and $2,000 is for contingencies, incidental and related expenses. SECTION 3. That the necessity to execute the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the sums hereinabove set out so that repairs to the Boys' Club' Roof may be commenced at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative_public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of is i introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three N1/4 several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor havingdeclared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the sussp`ensioniof the Charter rule 1. and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect froth and af, r ts_passage, IT IS , f " ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 9 day of ,� ,,, , 1980. rir ATTEST: City Secretary APPROVED:V- OyDAY OF J.
