HomeMy WebLinkAbout15307 RES - 01/16/1980JBA:vp:12/20/79:1st ti 'A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Refinery Terminal Fire Company has heretofore paid for and received the use of certain surplus government property for Civil Defense purposes and public safety purposes, under previous laws and regula- tions which required that title to such property remain in a governmental entity such as the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, these government regulations have now been repealed by an Act of Congress, Public Law 94-519, published in the Federal Register, Vol- ume,43, Number 31 on February 14, 1978; and WHEREAS, the Refinery Terminal Fire Company has requested that the City of Corpus Christi release any interest it might have in such vehicles: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Release according to the attached copy, donating, assigning and releasing to the Terminal Fire Company any of the City's right, title and interest in and to the surplus government Civil Defense vehicles described in the Release. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize the City Manager to execute the Release of the surplus government Civil Defense vehicles described therein at the earliest possible date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi- nance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance orresolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IIJT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the /4 day of w�uc. / , 19 YU• ATTEST: Secretary APPROVED:P Y OF . , 19 J.
