HomeMy WebLinkAbout15308 ORD - 01/16/1980jkh:1-16-8O;lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15256, PASSED AND APPROVED ON DECEMBER 12, 1979, WHICH ORDINANCE ADOPTED THE 1979 EDITION OF THE SOUTHERN STANDARD BUILDING CODE, BY DELETING PARAGRAPH 19 UNDER SECTION 1 OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 15256; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15256, passed and approved by the City Council on December 12, 1979, which adopted the 1979 Edition of the Southern Standard Building Code, be amended by deleting from Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 15256 paragraph 19 which added new sections 811, 812, 813, 814, 815, 816 and 817 to Chapter VIII - APPURTENANCE REQUIREMENTS to the Southern Standard Building Code, 1979 Edition. • SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the aforesaid ordinance at the earliest practicable date in order to delete duplicate provisions, the aforesaid provisions having been adopted in the Mechanical Code by the City Council, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordi- nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the Ai day of January, 1980.
