HomeMy WebLinkAbout15319 ORD - 01/23/1980• 7 • ,•s AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $9,340 OUT OF THE NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND PAYABLE TO CLAUDE CHAPMAN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AS A RESULT OF A CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI REGARDING THE HIGHWAY 9 - CORN PRODUCTS ROAD LIFT STATION AND LATERALS, PROJECT NO. 250-77-9; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $9,340 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund payable to Claude Chapman Con- stuction Company as a result of the claim against the City of Corpus Christi concerning the Highway 9 - Corn Products Road Lift Station and Laterals, Project No. 250-77-9. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove described at the earliest practicable date in order that the, public improve- ment project may continue without delay,creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 23 day of January, 1980.
