AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF TWO PARCELS OF LAND
FOR THE FLOUR BLUFF GARDENS LIFT STATION AND LATERALS;
APPROPRIATING $3,000 OUT OF THE NO. 162 FEDERAL/STATES
GRANT FUND, ACTIVITY 4744, CODE 502, 5TH YEAR COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FOR ACQUISITION OF THE AFORESAID
PARCELS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute documents
necessary for the acquisition of two parcels of land for the Flour Bluff Gardens
Lift Station and Laterals Project, from the property owner, Exxon Pipeline Co.,
said parcels being more particularly described as follows:
Parcel 1: Lot 25, Section 48, Flour Bluff and
Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts
(lift station and temporary construction
easements)
Parcel 2: Lot 25, Section 48, Flour Bluff and Encinal
Farm and Garden Tracts
(utility easement)
SECTION 2: That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $3,000 ,
out of the No. 162 Federal/States grant fund, activity 4744, Code 502, 5th
Year Community Development Block Grant for acquisition of the aforesaid parcels.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid
documents and to appropriate sums necessary to acquire the above described pro-
perty at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an impera-
tive public necessity requiring tfie suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist,
and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance

be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY
SO ORDAINED, this the o day of January, 1980.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
