AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $9,172.50 OUT OF THE 209 COMMUNITY
CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND, PROJECT NO. 209-76-1.3,
TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE
14608. PASSED AND APPROVED ON NOVEMBER 8, 1978, FOR
AWARD BY SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS, APPRAISAL FEES AND
SPECIAL COMMISSIONERS FEES, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH THE
ACQUISITION OF PARCEL 57, BLOCK 71, BAYFRONT SCIENCE
PARK. BEING A MATTER IN CONDEMNATION STYLED CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI V. W. W. BODINE, ET AL, CAUSE NO. 784-3.
COUNTY COURT AT LAW NUMBER 3 0 NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:

SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the No. 209 Commun-
ity Convention Facility Bond Fund the sum of $9,172.50 for Project No. 209-76-
1.3, to supplement funds previously appropriated by Ordinance 14608, passed
and approved on November 8, 1978, for award by Special Commissioners. appraisal
fees and Special Commissioners fees. all in connection with the acquisition
of Parcel 57. Block 71. Bayfront Science Park, being a matter in condemnation
styled City of Corpus Christi v. W. W. Bodine, et al, Cause No. 784-3. County
Court at Law Number 3 of Nueces County, Texas.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately provide the sums herein-
above described in order that the above named project may be commenced without
delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring
the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this
the b day of February, 1980.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
